tummy tuck concern

Hello Stephanie,
Good Morning, I aam a 25 yr old wife and mother of 3.I have a 4yrold,2yrold, 15 month old. I have had 2 hernia surgeries. I asked my ps. Who did both repairs of muy umbilical hernia if it would be safe to have a tt.He said it would be fine. My question is if someone has a tt . But decides to have 1 more child 5yrs after would that affect the surgery and with proper diet and exercise would my tt stil work for me. Or is it an absolute no no to have kids after a tt. Even if u r fit and waited 5-6 yrs. I may not want any more kids .but the thought is still in the air and we want to rethink it in 5-6 yrs. But in the meantime I do still want a desirable tummy?? I have loose skin that a tt would do alot for me. and help tighten my ab muscles. .

If you are thinking about having another child, I would postpone the tummy tuck, otherwise you will probably be looking at a procedure now and in 5 yrs after your 4th child. I think the tummy tuck will give you the results you are looking for, but I would avoid two procedures! Good luck in making your decision

RE: tummy tuck concern

Hi Stephanie,
I am a 43 years old, and am 9 days post sergery on a mommy makeover. (tummy tuck, breast augmentation and lift) I am felling much better than I thought I would, but I think I am overdoing activity. I have been careful not to lift anything over 5lbs, but I have been on my feet alot the past couple of days. I feel good all day then around 5pm I start to swell up in the abdomin, just above the cut. I am very busy and want to be active, at the same time I don't want to dammage the work done. Can you tell me a general way to tell if I am over active and an aprox time on my feet every day that is ok.

9 days post op is too soon to be returning to normal activity. Your body is going to take at least 6 weeks to recover. the swelling you are getting at the end of the day is your body telling you that you are over doing it! You just had a big procedure. Give your body time to adjust and heal!
