Re:Breast lift vs Augmentation

Hello, I am 24 years old and I recently lost quite a bit of weight... the weightloss resulted in my breasts going for a Fcup to a DD... now they are empty looking and saggy, which I hate being so young. I would like fuller perkier breasts, but I hate the scaring that comes with breast lifts. Aswell I have seen some pictures of lifts and they still have an empty appearance on top. Would that mean I just need implants? Would that also make my breasts higher? The only problem I have with that is I don't really want bigger boobs, I still fill out a DD bra, its just the fullness is all at the bottom. stem cells

Hi Diane. Thank you for your question. Loss of fullness in the breasts is common after a person has lost a lot of weight. From your description, it seems like you would benefit from undergoing a mastopexy (breast lift). A breast lift is fundamentally different from breast augmentation because it is intended to enhance the shape of the breast and not the size. A breast lift raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning the remaining tissue and nipples to improve its appearance. I would definitely suggest you seek the opinion of a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in performing breast lifts and breast augmentations. Before choosing your surgeon, I also recommend you look at his/her before- and after-photos of the type of procedure you want to undergo. That way you will have a better idea of the results you may be able to expect. I hope this information helps. Let us know what you decide to do. If you undergo a breast lift, we would love to hear about your experience.
*Always seek the advice of your plastic surgeon, physician, or other qualified health care professional concerning treatment of your specific medical condition.
