2-1/2 months post op tummy tuck having issues - Friday, August 05, 2011 10:43 AM
I am currently 2-1/2 months post op tummy tuck (skin only, no muscle repair) with lipo.  I had drainage issues where the dr had to reinsert the drain tube in me for a few days and then injected me with an inflammatory to keep the seroma closed.  I am now left with a bulge of scar tissue in the middle of my abdomen that my dr has told me to massage on a daily basis.  I have been massaging incessantly and noticed yesterday that my last drainage spot which was placed through my incision now has opened up again and some light blood dripped out yesterday.  I have also noticed that my belly button has some dried up crustiness on it every morning.  I have been cleaning out my belly button and applying antibiotic ointment but it's still the same, no worse, but no better.  I placed a call to my dr who doesn't think I have an infection but has called me in an antibiotic and has told me to use neosporin and a bandaid.  Should I be concerned because he clearly is not....I just don't want to overreact but I don't want to under-react either.  I don't have any puss and I don't have an infection, nor am I in any type of pain.  I just feel like 2-1/2 months I should be progressing, not worrying about this kind of stuff.  Any suggestions??
