round face/suggestions?? - Wednesday, June 29, 2011 6:46 PM
My face is chubby and round, would I look better with a more angular face? What procedure would you recommend?

Hello, Debz

Thank you for your question.  Often people with round faces wish to have a more chiseled appearance.  Excess subcutaneous fat throughout the face and a full neck and round cheeks can create a full and round face.  The buccal fat pads are encapsulated fat masses in the cheeks.  Sometimes being overweight is a cause of having a full and round face.  In that case, losing weight can dramatically reduce the fullness of a person's face.  However, heredity may also play a role.  In that case, liposuction of the chin, cheeks, and/or neck and removal of the buccal pads (buccal lipectomies) are options to transform a full, round face into a more shapely one. Cheek augmentation (cheek implants) is another option to help create new facial contours.

We can help you find a board certified plastic surgeon in your area who is experienced in these type of procedures.  Please keep us updated in what you decide to do.

Hello,

Excessive fat around face make our face round. Think in the direction to reduce some fat and it will be automatically in angular shape. If you have this shape since childhood and still wants angular shape for your face get surgery.
