Post Surgery Swelling after Vassar Lipo - Tuesday, December 21, 2010 9:09 AM
Hello!  I had vassar liposuction about 5 weeks ago.  I had previously had two other lipo procedures done the traditional way.  I immediately noticed that I felt much, much more swollen and like I had a tone of fluid retention after this procedure even though I actually had much less fat removed than the other two.  Even though a month has passed, I still feel like I am swelling ALOT!  Mostly in my lower body even though the majority was done to my stomach.  I especially notice it after exercise even though my dr said it was okay to exercise.  And I am not doing particularly high intestity exercise.  Is there normally just much more swelling with vassar?  I have also noticed a weight GAIN despite carefully watching my diet whereas with my other two I noticed an immediate loss of at least a couple of pounds.  Let me also add that my surgeon acts like this is normal, but my husband (who is a physician, too, and actually did a year of PS residency before changing specialties) thinks that it is to the point that i should no longer be experiencing this still...at least not to the effec that I am.  Should I quit exercising?  Should I try to stay off my feet more? Advise is appreciated!  Thanks!

Hi LizaB

I read your post with interest.  I am wondering if non invasive DEEP OSCILLATION therapy could help you eradicate this swelling so that you can enjoy the results of your procedure.  There may be a therapist near to you who is offering this therapy, you can read more about it on our site, click 'fields of application' and 'aesthetic surgery aftercare',  we only supply units into the UK/Ireland but there may be someone near to you that you can book in for a block session...

We have many therapists in the UK using for their pre and post liposuction patients as it prepares the tissue for Liposuction, makes the liposuction more effective and durable and protects against any adverse effects of the body sculpting procedure.  Hope that is helpful to you.  Happy Christmas, PhysioPod.

I believe that while you experience so unpleasant side effects and your doctor says its ok, its about time to visit another doctor and take a second opinion!
I came here to expand my knowledge about plastic surgery and share my knowledge on liposuction
