Non-surgical Rhinoplasty - Tuesday, November 08, 2005 3:16 PM
Hi!
I heard about a non-surgical rhinoplasty procedure being performed in LA by a plastic surgeon. Has anybody heard about this? Anybody had the procedure before?

Non- Surgical Rhinoplasty (or nose job) is done by injecting small amounts of filler into the surface of the nose. It is used as an alternative to the traditional rhinoplasty for patients who fear surgical procedures and for those who are looking for small changes. The procedure is not capable of changing the size of the nose, but can result in better symmetry by filling out depressions in the nose, and smoothing out bumps or sharp angles. The procedure takes about 30 minutes and is performed in a non surgical setting

Hi,
This is Dr. Alexander Rivkin. I invented the Non Surgical Nose Job - I was just doing a google search and happened upon these posts.
The procedure is a simple injection of a filler (I usually use Radiesse), done to camouflage various irregularities in the contour of a nose.
Over the 2 years that I've been doing this, I have seen that this method can make a bumpy nose look straight, a crooked nose look straight, and it can elevate a droopy tip. About half of my current clients come to me in order to correct problems with surgical nose jobs that they have had in the past. The procedure also works well for Asians or African Americans who want to give the bridge of their nose more definition, but do not want to go through the pain, bruising and hassle of surgical rhinoplasty (which, for them would involve taking a piece of cartilage from the ear or rib and inserting it under the skin of their nose).
The moderator is correct about the time duration of the procedure. It is essentially painless and is done in my office. There is minimal bruising, if any, and the patient can go back to their life without interruption.
The cost is about 1/10th of rhinoplasty, but i do have to disagree with the moderator when she says that the procedure is for those people that are looking for small changes. If you take a look at the before and after section on my website (http://www.westsidemedicalspa.com/nosejobbeforeandafter.php) you can see that some of the changes are pretty dramatic.
Sorry if this sounds like a sales pitch - I'm just trying to put as much info across as I can.
If anyone has any questions about the Non Surgical Nose Job, feel free to call my office anyday - the number is 310 443 5273.
Thanks,
Alexander Z. Rivkin M.D.

Rhinoplasty is one among the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the world. The number of people undergoing rhinoplasty is on the rise.  A lot of people undergo the procedure for improving the appearance of their noses.  Well it can't be called rhinoplasty if it doesn't involve any surgery.

Rhinoplasty is a facial cosmetic procedure that is usually performed to enhance the appearance of the nose. During this type of rhinoplasty, the nasal cartilage and bones are modified, or tissue is added. Rhinoplasty is also performed to repair nasal fractures and other structural problems. In these cases, the goal is to restore preinjury appearance or to create a normal appearance.

Yes. One such procedure is Injection Rhinoplasty. This is intended for those who dont want a surgery. It would help know the changes before a more permanent change. The procedure requires only half an hour.
