Nearly 3yrs on and still have problem with left breast - Friday, October 30, 2009 2:56 AM
I had my breast enlargement in jan 2007. Did exactly what they told me to do after op etc.. The problem is that my left breast always seems to hurt after driving or carrying heavy shopping. This has been happening from the beginning but they say that the implants need time to settle so I didn't really think much of it. (The implant is over the muscle.) To me it sounds like the muscle is contracting forcing the implant further out.( but what do I know ) The breast then looks swollen and I get an uncomfortable pain. I tend to avoid driving as when the pain gets to bad I feel that I want to rip it out.
I've been to see the plastic surgery's nurse who told me to go and have an ultrasound, which I did. The results came back clear, nothing wrong with my implants nor breast. The nurse did say go for a mammogram but the hospital refused one as I'm to young.
I've since been back to the nurse who has know idea whats wrong and doesn't know what to suggest.  I don't really want them taken out cos apart from this they're lovely.
Any one had a similar problem??
Stephanie

It sounds like the nerve is being irritated. The ultra sound would have shown common problems such as capsular contracture. Another option for more extensive imaging might be an MRI. You should discus this with your plastic surgeon.
