tumy tuck/back pain - Friday, May 01, 2009 8:25 AM
15 Years ago I had twins, then 3 years after that I had triplets.  Needless to say I could use a tummy tuck for the cosmetic result. but haven't done it because there never seems to be a good time to take myself out for a prolonged recovery.  However, I now have Sacroiliac Joint dysfunction which I am told is likely related to my multiple pregnancies.  I have done a lot of physical therapy for core stabilization, pelvic ring strengthening, without much improvement.  Would a Tummy tuck improve my core strength over the long run?  If it would help my back pain, it would be worth it.

If you are not overweight then a tummy tuck will do little for back pain. Core strengthening exercises are the best. Have you tried pilates? The other thing that can increase low back pain in adults is tight hamstring muscles,  as they attach at the pelvic bones. You should stretch your hamstrings daily. Hope this helps
