for body builders who are aging and no longer keeping up their workout routines, is this condition something to worry about?

Body Builders would have large pectoral (chest) muscles. If you stop your routine, the muscle will atrophy or decrease in size which could lead to excess skin, but gynecomastia is excess fatty tissue underneath the skin. I think if you maintain good diet and exercise you shouldn't have anything to worry about!

...except, maybe, the male equivalent of post-pregnancy/nursing deflation, since there is that whole "skin elasticity decreases with age" thing. But I agree; I can't picture all of your fat suddenly calling a body-wide summit in the space once occupied by the pecs. Not on its own, anyway.

A friend of mine who is also a body builder before is still in good shape until now(although his chest and abs is not as firm as before. So I guess there is nothing to worry about if you can't keep your body building exercise as long as you will keep a good diet and exercise.
