mommy makeover - Thursday, June 19, 2008 2:07 PM
What procedures make up the mommy makeover surgery. Would the procedures just be dealing with the stomach and breasts since they are the areas usually affected the most by by pregnanacy and childbrirth?

Thanks!

The mommy makeover is not a specific procedure, it simply refers to women who have plastic surgery to correct the changes their body endured as a result of pregnancy. This usually includes a tummy tuck and a breast lift with or without an augmentation.

I would wait until you are done having children, otherwise you will be making some large investments!

For the tummy, mommy can have a tummy tuck procedure. If not, one can choose for smart liposuction.

In some cases mothers breast growth and change in women's breast size breast reduction corrects actually remove the breasts after surgery wish. Concern only usually treated surgically if one needs that these changes in their breasts after breastfeeding are found can be corrected.

Tuck Procedure stomach or abdomen through regular exercise that usually is very difficult to head off early in the extra period. During the process of creation stands in the stomach also stressed muscles, so it is best to create more children this surgery if you do not plan to go through. If your not pregnant (become), then the results reflect abdominal muscles as your ad will be weak again.

Most of Mommy makeovers include 3 procedures:
    - Breast surgery: Can be breast augmentation, breast reduction or breast lift with implants,, all depend on the patient needs.
    - Liposuction: Can be one or many areas (it depends on the patient needs).
    - Tummy Tuck: this surgery is always included in mommy makeovers
Sometimes the patient can ask for a brazilian butt lift (buttock augmentation with fat injections) to complete the Mommy makeover.
The cost of such procedure is normally around $20,000 / $25,000. It can be more depending on the surgeon you will choose and the area where you live.
I personally had a Mommy Makeover (breast lift with implants, Tummy tuck and full liposuction of abdomen, arms, abdominal flanks and thighs) . I decided to have it done abroad since I couldn't afford it in the US,, I travelled to Bolivia through a medical operator (MakeoverTravel)
My experience in Bolivia was great! could not have spent my money in a better way and would do it all over again.
I would recommend the mommy makeover to anyone who is unhappy with their body. It has boosted my confidence!
My all inclusive plastic surgery package in Bolivia cost me  $7,500 including (The Surgical Procedure, clinic stay, hotel stay for 13 days in a 4**** hotel, complete blood test, Bilingual Assistant)
It was very affordable,,, Is Mommy makeover surgery really worth it? YES YES and YES again.

What could be the possible consequences of a complete mommy makeover? Will it not affect the capacity of the woman to still give birth? :)

Hi Stef.  Thank you for your question.  As most women know, pregnancy and childbirth can cause a dramatic change to a woman's body.  Sagging breasts and excessive abdominal fat and skin are two of the most common complaints.  A "mommy makeover" is an individualized surgical plan between a woman and her plastic surgeon, which is focused on trying to achieve the woman's wishes and needs.  A mommy makeover usually incorporates several surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, breast lifttummy tuckliposuction, and/or liposculpture.  Each of these links will give you more information concerning each procedure, including risks involved.  I highly recommend you choose a board certified plastic surgeon for this type of surgery.
*Always seek the advice of your plastic surgeon, physician, or other qualified health care professional concerning treatment of your specific medical condition.

Absolutely. If you intend to have a makeover, make sure that you have no intention of having any more children since pregnancy can ruin the makeover result. Also to get rid of any doubts and misconception, consult your surgeon. They'd be able to tell you if you can be a candidate for a makeover or not. I had mine done in Manila by Dr Rino Lorenzo. He's a good surgeon  who knows how to listen. Another nice thing about him is that he will run some test for you just to make sure if you are fit for the surgery.

Mommy makeovers actually intend to deal with pregnancy effects on your body so it varies from patient to patient that what procedures are applicable. However, liposuction is must.
