How old do you have to be to have Lipo? How much money does it cost? and does it leave visible scars? how long does it take and how long is the recovery? How does the fat stay off??

as far as I know, you have to be 18 to have the procedure, but I'm not entirely sure. As for your other questions, I found a lot of useful information here: http://www.plasticsurgery.com/liposuction/liposuction-faqs-i1571.aspx
There are other pages on this site too that help explain everything that goes into liposuction and answers your questions. Good luck!

your questions can be answered best with research. there are so many different types of liposuction, and a million different surgeons that can do the procedure. every hospital has different charges, etc...
i've had surgery done in the past (quite some time ago now), and what i learnt from that experience was to be sure to be informed as best possible, visit more than 2 possible surgeons that would to the procedure, and be sure you have the moral support of friends & family (very important). and once you feel confident about your decision, enjoy ... it'll change your life!! sam.

Each state has their own laws regarding plastic and cosmetic surgery ages. Recently there has been a few reports of teenagers having plastic surgery so you would have to check with your state medical board or even your insurance to see if there are any age restrictions.
As for the liposuction cost questions, again you'd have to do some research. Each state, even each city has different prices based on different things like cost of living, economical situations and surgeons experience. Compare Beverly Hills liposuction vs Dallas liposuction and you'll find a cost difference. Here is some older information on the cost of liposuction to give you an idea.
There are also different forms of liposuction that remove the fat in different ways, such as VASER Hi-Def Liposuction, Tumescent Liposuction and Ultrasound-Assisted Lipoplasty.
This is my awesome signature !

Hi Newbody,

It's true that everybody will have a different experience when it comes to recovery but I wanted to share my experience with you.

Following my Vaser Lipoprocedure I could instantly see a change in my body’s shape. It has gotten curvy! The difference between Vaser lipo and liposuction is you can see immediate results without the pain, all I needed was Tylenol. Following my Tuesday procedure, I was back in the office on Thursday.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing! Personal experience is great to share with people who are trying to make decisions about a procedure. Sounds like you had awsome recovery time! How long did your actual procedure last?

I chose to go with Vaser Lipo and two days post op there was no bruising at all. I was thrilled with how good the area looked. Three days post op I felt tired but good enough to do a little gardening.

Do you mind if I ask you how much they removed and from what areas? I am highly considering this and would like to have the full story from someone who has gotten it done themselves!

Thanks!

Hi Audrey,

I'm happy to share my story. Hopefully it helps you make a decision.

I decided to get Vaser Lipo because even though I work out regularly, I could never get rid of the extra fat on my stomach and outer thighs. After researching different liposuction methods, I heard about Vaser Lipo and found out that it is much gentler than regular liposuction and also more effective.

I had my stomach, love handles and outer thighs contoured. Afterwards, I felt surprisingly good!  When I went home that day I watched movies and did laundry.  I had taken the 2nd day after the procedure off from work but felt good enough to go shopping. When I went back to the doctor for a check up and looked in the mirror, I could already see a huge difference in my appearance and I barely had any bruises—just a little light bruising in a couple of places.

I had a friend who had liposuction a few months before I did, her doctor did regular liposuction, she was extremely bruised and in pain for days. So I was thrilled about how great I looked and felt so quickly after the procedure! It’s been four years now since I had Vaser Lipo and I love my results, my stomach is flatter than it’s ever been. This procedure has changed the way I feel about my appearance and has given me a lot of confidence!

Hope this helps. Good Luck.
