for body builders who are aging and no longer keeping up their workout routines, is this condition something to worry about?

Body Builders would have large pectoral (chest) muscles. If you stop your routine, the muscle will atrophy or decrease in size which could lead to excess skin, but gynecomastia is excess fatty tissue underneath the skin. I think if you maintain good diet and exercise you shouldn't have anything to worry about!

But I agree; I can't picture all of your fat suddenly calling a body-wide summit in the space once occupied by the pecs. Not on its own, anyway.
