asian blepharoplasty question - Friday, April 06, 2007 12:54 AM
dear stephanie,
i had asian eyelids surgery 7 weeks ago.The doctor made an extension incision line past my natural eyelids which lead to visible scarring.it looks horrible especially when i smile.now it makes me look i have extra lines at the corner of my eyes. Also, ive notice i have exaggerated eye crinkles (long n deep) whenever i smile and eye bags n puffiness at the lower eyes.Is this natural at 7 weeks? what about my visible scarring?is there any possible way to remove them?and why did my doctor made this line beyond the natural eyelids?

thank you for your time

Stephanie

Scaring should improve with time as long as you are protecting the incision from sun exposure. It is hard to say much more about your experience without actually looking at you. I would give yourself more time to heal, but it would never hurt to have a second opinion. You could schedule a consultation with another plastic surgeon. Did you look at before and after photos of your current surgeons work? It is always a good idea to look at before and after photos, to check references, and credentials. Hope this helps.
