Swollen + looks weird - Saturday, August 22, 2009 5:38 AM
Hi stephanie I just want to say what a wonderful job your doing on this website first of all :)
now heres my situation im a male ,21 , 6ft0in, 178lbs.i had lost about 100lbs in the past.  i recently had a peniculectomy where only the skin was tightened w/lipo. she did a smiley face type incision and stretched the skin down so that my sides get stretched inward giving me more of a curvy look.  Now my stomach is flat (almost), skin is tight when standing, but when im sitting down its a little loose and bubbly (swollen). will this change?

another thing is that i got rid of the skin pouch but in the back i still have some fat stored and love handles my hips and stomach dont match, i have like a pear shape like a womens body and im a male! because she had pulled down for the sides to tighten as well. . .  will it change?  i am 1 month post op now when can i start lifting weights and running?

my main concern is to get rid of the love handles im gona have to lose about 15-20lbs, will my skin sag again if i do that or will it tighten now after my surgery, i know the scar is damaged skin cells so i dont know if it will be able to tighten. i mean the rest of my body looks tight standing up but when i sit down like my thighs shows that i got some excess skin on em and my love handles and my butt.  anyway what do you suggest?  i mean what happens after a tummy tuck surgery underneath the skin, does it hold on to the muscles or stay loose? how does the healing process effect the way its going to look?

sorry for the long post but there is not much help out there :P you are one of the few stephanie thank you :)

I am suprised that your plastic surgeon did not give you more information. Did you have a post op visit? I would give yourself at least 8 weeks before you start exercising. Then I would work back into it slow with walking and minimal weight lifting.

If you are not happy with your results you need to keep in touch with your plastic surgeon. If you are not happy with the info the plastic surgeon is giving you, you should always look for a second opinion.

I do think your results will probably continue to improve as there is still probably some swelling and bruising.

Hope this helps
