Breast Reduction

Hi I had breast reduction surgery done back in 2002 and after the surgery the doctor informed me that she did not take the excess skin from the sides just below my armpit area. I wasnt sure if this was necessary at the time but am findind that I have all this excess skin there now and it is quite unappealing to me. I just tried a new bathing suit on and under the pit area it kind of hangs over a bit and i was just disgusted. Isthis common practice when doing a reduction and what do I do now? Is there a surgery to fix this and will insurance cover it?

I don't think that insurance will cover the additional procedure to fix the excess skin. Your best bet would be to return to your original surgeon for consultation. Due to the amount of time that has passed I don't think they would remove the excess skin without payment.

Why breast reduction? Is this the only fat problem you have? If it were my breasts I would not consider it nor an increase? There are other ways to decrease the size of boobs.

Actually, some women can do all the exercise and weight loss just right, and the weight in the breast will not reduce. That is why this procedure can be covered by insurance. It can really cause a lot of strain on the upper back if a woman is petite with large breasts
