RE: liposuction - Monday, July 10, 2006 8:15 PM
Liposuction of the neck is a common procedure. Some people have only excess skin that is bothersome, and others have adipose tissue (fatty tissue) in addition to excess skin. Liposuction can be used in both cases. Liposuction in the neck area is a relatively quick procedure and offers fast, gratifying results. Not only is the extra fatty tissue removed, but the scare tissue that forms beneath the skin from the procedure actually pulls and tightens the skin (adhesions). This scarring is not visible from the surface, and has added benefit for a younger look. The skin under the neck can also be tightened by using laser treatment in addition to liposuction. The laser actually shrinks the skin.
