breast aug incisions

What is the most recommended incision for breast augmentation? I'm deciding between the areolar incision and under the breast. I would prefer areolar for minimal scarring, but under the breast doesn't require going through the breast. Help!

There is also the option of going in through the belly button and armpit to consider. If it was me, I'd discuss all the options w/a trusted surgeon and address your concerns about scarring, but also discuss how different techniques affect implant stability and the likelihood of needing revision surgery. There's no point in having a procedure that produces minimal scarring, if its also the most unstable and would require revision surgery. I'm not sure which is the safest tho, so speak w/a doctor before deciding on the technique. Good luck!

Areolar incisions result in less scarring, but you risk loosing sensation of the nipple, and may have trouble breast feeding if you are planning on having children. The best incision to minimize scarring is the transumbilical incision (through the belly button) which leaves your breast free of any incision
