TUMMY TUCK - Sunday, May 13, 2007 4:12 AM
Hi,

On June 5 I am having a tummy tuck and a breast lift with no implants. I will be leaving for a vacation on July 14 -22. Will most of my swelling be down by then. That gives me almost 6 weeks. I do know that the swelling won't be completely gone for probably a year or longer but will I look good enough and feel well enough to travel by that time?

Thanks for your help.

Lori

I would talk to your surgeon about your travel plans. There are some restrictions to physical activity after both tummy tuck and breast lift. make sure your surgeon clears you. You do not want to compromise the end results.

Stephanie,

I have spoken with him and he says I will be fine to travel. That being said, I am asking for a personal opinions of people who have actually had it done. I do have a coctail party to attend on one evening but the rest of the trip is pretty much under my control. My PS says that I may feel a bit of swelling at times but no one else will be able to tell and that I should see a big difference immediately even with the swelling.

What is your personal opinion? Will people be able to see that I am swollen?

Again, it depends on how extensive your tummy tuck will be. I think after six weeks you should be able to go, but I don't think you will feel 100%. Hope you have a good time. Just make sure you listen to your body and don't over due it! As for swelling, I don't think that other people will notice. The proceure will have you looking smaller than you did before! THe decrease in swelling over time will just continue to give you better results

You are the best Stephanie. I just hope there are no complication as I really need this vacation. I plan on relaxing by the pool and doing nothing except read a good romance novel....lol.

Your input is so much appreciated.
