Sliding Genioplasty. - Monday, October 13, 2008 6:54 AM
Hi, I 'm a 22 year old male considering genioplasty.
I have read that the sliding genioplasty/ osteotomy can increase the height/ projection of the chin or correct mild asymmetry.
In my case however, I require a little of all three. Would that be possible?
I have a consultation booked in a couple of weeks, but I would really like to know beforehand.
Many thanks.
Stephanie

Genioplasty, also known as chin augmentation, can accomplish all three areas for you. Are you having the procedure done by a plastic surgeon or an oral an maxillofacial surgeon? good luck to you

Thanks for the reply.
I'm seeing a cosmetic surgeon from a maxillofacial background, and i'm told she has alot of experience in this particular area.
Now that I know where I stand, i'm alot more confident about going fowards with the proceedure.
Thanks again.
