Sizing

What is a good determination on what size to go? I have about 15-20 lbs.to lose. I would like to lose it before the surgery, but if I don't, I want to make sure that I go large enough that when I do lose it,that I do not lose size there too. Is that possible? I would love some advice on this.

RE: Sizing

I think it is important to consider your height and hip size, bust line, and waist when considering implant size. 350cc implants may look big in someone five feet tall, and may not even be noticeable in someone six feet tall. When you are looking at before and after pictures that are posted on doctor's websites, look at the patient’s profile. Sometimes the implant size, patient height, and patient weight will be posted next to the photos. Your plastic surgeon will help you to make the right decision. He/She can take measurements around your bust line and give you ideas about what implant will compliment your body type. You can also look at the website for the breast implant manufacturer to do your own research on implant measurements.

As for your weight, 15-20lbs is not that much to loose! I would try to meet your weight goals first and then undergo your breast augmentation. It will probably be easier to meet your weight goals prior to surgery. After your augmentation, your ability to work out will be limited as you recover. Good luck to you!

RE: Sizing

Hello Stephanie,I appreciate your reply. I hope that I am happy with my choice. Today I went for my planning session with my plastic surgeon's office. I looked thru pics plus I had several pics that I had gotten off the internet.I am both excited, but a little nervous.I told my doctor's asst. that I would rather be a little large than too small.I do not want to go thru this and be disappointed. You know? I am trying to keep my expectations realistic.I was told today that he will be making the incision in the areolar. He does this one the most.He really advised me against the arm-pit.He gave me the choice of areolar or breast fold.I chose what he said and I feel really good about it.My actual surgery date is March the 24th.bright and early at 8:00am. Say a little prayer for me....or two or three! Godsgirl

RE: Sizing

Incision through the areola is a good choice and it will hardly be noticeable at about six months post op. Good luck with your surgery! I hope that you are pleased with the final results! Be sure to let us know how it all goes!
