You're welcome!  I agree with you about eating a healthy diet.  Eating a mostly organic plant based diet will do wonders for your skin.  ~Anna

Re:Six Steps to Clear Skin - Wednesday, May 02, 2012 12:24 AM
1. Wash your face at least twice each day, using a pure soap such as Ivory, and clean water. Hot water opens pores, so wash with hot water. Cold water closes pores, so splash your face with cold water after washing to ensure that your pores are protected from the environment. Splash with cold water before applying makeup as well.

2. Reduce the use of cosmetics as much as possible. These clog pores. If you must wear makeup, make sure that you are using hypoallergenic products, or products for sensitive skin. Splash your face with cold water before applying, and make sure you wash all the makeup away before going to bed.

3. Keep you hair and hands off your face. Hair and hands contain oils that can cause acne breakouts. When applying creams or makeup to the face, use applicators - not your hands. Don't lean with your hands on your face either. Keep your hair pulled back off your face.

1. Keep it simple. Too many products can irritate and too many steps may tempt you to skip. 2. Keep it up. If you want great skin, care for it each day. Sporadic care won't do it. 3. Keep it gentle. Scrubbing and overdrying leaves skin rough and red. Like, don't fight with your face.

Re:Six Steps to Clear Skin - Friday, August 31, 2012 12:32 AM
Here are most useful six steps for cleansing of the skin :
1)-Nourishing--Nourishment of the skin is very essential factor which keeps our skin clean. Healthy diet also helps to keep our skin clean from inside naturally. So,always take care of your food habits.Stay away from oily and junk foods.

2)-Drink water--Drink plenty of water in a day. In a day ,try to drink 10-12 glass of water .it not only helps you to clean your skin but also helps to turn your skin more glowing than ever.

3)-Scrub--Use of scrub as per your skin even thrice in a week is also useful for cleansing of oily and dull skin.It helps you in removing dead cells.

4)-mask--Use of mask twice a week is sufficient for deep cleaning of skin pores. In your daily schedule if you are outside of your home most of the time you can use this  thrice a  week

5)-Facewash--Use of a good quality face wash twice in a day is really essential and useful for cleaning of the skin.

6)-Moisturizer--use of a good quality moisturizer after a face wash helps you to protect your skin pores and tones.

~Thanks

Re:Six Steps to Clear Skin - Wednesday, February 20, 2013 11:04 AM
1. Slather on the sunscreen. We know, we know—you've heard it a million times, but wearing sunscreen is the single easiest way to look younger for life. "Ninety percent of wrinkles are from sun exposure," says Day. "It's so much easier to prevent the damage than it is to fix it afterwards." That means no slacking during winter months either, when rays are just as strong and can reflect off of buildings and sidewalks. Look for a formula that offers broad-spectrum protection to guard against UVA rays (the ones that cause premature aging) and UVB rays (one of the main causes of skin cancer). Try Philosophy Shelter Broad Spectrum Sunscreen in SPF30. 2. Clean your makeup brushes. A British study found that 72% of women never wash their brushes or sponges, even though they harbor dirt and bacteria which can cause breakouts. "You should wash loose powder brushes every two to three weeks, and those used to apply foundation once a week," says Jessica Wu, an LA-based dermatologist and author of Feed Your Face. Mix a couple of drops of gentle facial cleanser or shampoo and lukewarm water in a cup, swish your brushes around, rinse with lukewarm water, pat dry, and lay flat to air dry. 3. Munch on mixed nuts. Brazil nuts are rich in selenium, which increases skin elasticity and may decrease skin cancer, according to recent studies. Throw in walnuts—which are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids—to lower inflammation and put the brakes on breakouts, says Molly Morgan, Board Certified Sports Specialist Dietitian and author of The Skinny Rules. Finally, add some macadamias. "They're full of high quality oils and fatty acids that aid in skin repair and rejuvenation" says integrative practitioner Isaac Eliaz. Aim for a handful of each daily to reap their pore-perfecting benefits. 4. Start using serum. "It's much more concentrated than cream or lotion, so you tend to only need a small amount daily to see results," says Fran Cook-Bolden, Director of New York's Skin Specialty Dermatology. Look for one with antioxidants, the skin's major defense against free radicals and stress, and pentapeptides, which are a must-have when it comes to boosting collagen, the support structure that gives skin a firm, youthful appearance. Don't worry about spending a fortune on the ingredients; one of Cook-Bolden's favorites is Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum, a sheer formula whose small molecules can dive deep into pores. For best results, apply to freshly washed skin; follow with sunscreen or moisturizer to lock in hydration. 5. Sanitize your Smartphone. According to a Stanford University study, that iPhone you can't keep your hands off of can get more germ-infested than a toilet in a subway bathroom. In fact, the glass touchscreens on mobile devices are so good at spreading viruses that sharing them may be almost as bad as sneezing in someone's face. Here's a scary thought: All those germs land right on your cheek and jawline every time you chat away, causing pimples and irritation. To keep your phone (and face) bacteria-free, wipe it down with an antibacterial wipe like Clorox Disinfecting Wipes a few times a day.

Great advice, asim rasa!

Also, remember that just because a beauty product is more expensive doesn't mean it is better. Some products, no matter how great they may seem to be, can be a waste of money. For example, a facial cleanser may contain a lot of antioxidants or anti-aging ingredients, but the majority of these ingredients are just going to be washed down drain.

I always recommend beautypedia.com. This is an excellent website that provides reliable, in-depth research on thousands of skincare and make-up products. It's a site I go to before purchasing any skincare or make-up product.

Protecting your skin from the sun is one of the most important things you can do to prevent premature aging of your skin.  Using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 (preferably 30 or greater) is ideal. However, if you don't want to wear sunscreen, then I would advise you to wear a large brimmed hat to protect your face and clothing with SPF 50 protection (you can easily find clothing with SPF on the internet and in specialty stores). Also, the sun's UV rays are greatest when the sun is at its highest in the sky (between the hours of 10 AM to 4 PM), so avoiding going outside during those hours is preferable.

Keep in mind that you will probably need to take a vitamin D3 supplement, too.  Most people don't get enough Vitamin D from their diet alone. Your own skin is the main source of vitamin D. Vitamin D is often called the “sunshine vitamin” because your body produces it when exposed to sunlight. The superficial layers of your skin naturally contain a chemical compound that, when exposed to ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation, converts to cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). UVB rays activate a form of cholesterol in an oil of the skin and convert it to vitamin D3, which is then absorbed by the body. However, your body can only manufacture vitamin D if you expose your skin to UVB radiation. However, you cannot get sufficient UVB exposure to make enough vitamin D if you stay indoors all day or only go outdoors in the early evenings or late evening. In addition, sunscreen will block your body from manufacturing vitamin D. Therefore, it is important to take a supplement of vitamin D3 every day. New research studies show that most people are vitamin D deficient and that taking up 4,000-10,000 IU of vitamin D3 every day has been proven to be safe.
