Nipple sensation - Sunday, January 08, 2006 3:45 PM
I had my breast aug three weeks ago. My nipples are very sensitive and are always hard. I expected the sensitivity, but it has been very difficult to find something to wear where my nipples are not sticking out. I have big nipples and they are constantly hard. Does this subside after time? Sweaters are not an option- I live in the desert with 78 degree winter weather!

Maybe you should call your doctor and let him know your condition. Also, a padded bra could help... that way your nipples are covered even more?

I think that this sounds very strange.I have not ever heard of that kind of a reaction to this type of surgery before.Do you have any bleeding from the incision are?OR any kind of discharge? A follow-up is usually done after this surgery with-in a few days.Did you bring it to the doctor's attention? This needs his/her input.

Having sensation in your nipples following your breast augmentation is a good sign. Some women complain that they have decreased sensation following this procedure. Three weeks is also very early in your recovery. Your doctor should be instructing you on what is appropriate attire/ support at this point in your recovery (surgical bra possibly).
You should call your doctor immediately if you notice any discharge coming from your nipples (including blood). You should also contact your doctor if your breasts continue to get more uncomfortable or if you suddenly loose sensation. From this point on, your breast should be feeling better, not worse. Just remember that complete recovery from breast augmentation can take six months to a year. To read more about recovery from breast augmentation view the following link:
