NECKLIFTS - Thursday, November 30, 2006 7:32 AM
What can be expected as far as eating goes when one has a neck lift, and lower facelift. Any suggestions for most comfortable positions for sleeping.

After your procedure, eating solids will probably be uncomfortable. The muscles that are used to open and close the jaw will be aggrivated by the procedure. Your doctor will probably suggest soft foods and liquids until you begin to recover. As far as sleeping goes, It will probably be best to sleep on your back with your head elevated using two or three pillows. You might even want to put body pillows on each side of you to keep you from rolling over in your sleep.

Had lower neck lift about 20 years ago that greatly exceeded my expectations. I had no complications and remember eating soft foods first week then slowing eating other foods as comfort level permitted. Slept on recliner first 3 weeks with no problems and all these years later am still 100% satisfied and would make the same decision again in a heartbeat. Now considering upper arm, brachioplasty procedure but need more input.  Also, I am will not be ready, weight wise, until Jan or Feb of 2012. Thanks in advance for any input I might recieve on upper arm surgery.
