Mommy makover Surgery - Wednesday, December 21, 2011 8:42 AM
Tummy Tuck Surgery : The tummy tuck is a major surgical procedure that often requires the patient to remain overnight in the hospital. The surgeon makes a long, hip-to-hip incision across the lower abdomen and removes excess skin and some fat. The stomach muscles are also repaired during surgery because they have been stretched by the pregnancy and do not return to the normal shape. Results? A protruding tummy. To better conceal the resulting scar, most surgeons place the incision on the lower abdomen, where it can be hidden by undergarments and most beach wear This procedure is done for moms who have recently given birth then lost the weight from the pregnancy but some loose skin still remained. Most people find the skin uncomfortable so choose to have this procedure done; This procedure leaves a light scar under you belly from hip to hip but can be reduced with laser and other treatments.
