Breast Augmentation surgery costs can vary quite a bit depending on what you want to have done (i.e. breast enlargement, breast lift, etc.) and the doctor that performs the surgery. I know many people who have had their breasts lifted and/or enlarged and I have yet to meet a person who regrets the decision. :)

If you're interested in learning more about it, I would suggest that you take a look at some Breast Augmentation information about how the procedure is performed, what the pros and cons are, etc. and then make the decision to call a doctor for a free consultation.

At our practice (Michael S. Schwartz, MD) in Pasadena, CA, our breast aug procedure runs about $5000 for saline and $6000 for silicon.  I mean, that's just a ballpark figure--the doctor would have to consult you about your specific needs ... But just so you can get an idea.

The average cost for breast augmentation ranges from $5000- $7000. It depends on your physician, the type of implant, and if you are going to have a lift. It is smart to ask you doctor if the cost includes pot operative follow ups.

I always like to add one thought when people mention surgery in another country, and that is, what if something goes wrong. What if you travel back home and get infection or capsular contracture? It is much easier to deal with complications when your plastic surgeon is not a plane ride away!
 

Scary stuff, what about the standards of practice in a foreign country. Are they the same as in the United States? Also what recourse do you have if results are not what you were promised or expected?
We assume that things are the same high standard everywhere, as they are here in the United States.

I have to agree newbody.....the foreign practices are there but they are often sketchy in comparison. You can get back alley surgery there or you can go to a legit surgeon but often times even the legit foreign surgeons are scary and cut corners so they can pocket money. The US has rules and regs for a reason! Also remember super cheap surgery = super cheap breasts.

It is not scary at all just need to do a lil' bit more research. We don't talk here about third world countries but Europe. You do not have to assume anything- standards in Poland are same as here and possibility that something goes wrong are same as well. However I wonder how many doctors here are really good and honest to admit a mistake? They will always look for some excuse.
  Have you ever wonder why you are not staying at the clinic after surgery? Why you have to deal with pain and doubts by yourself, especially in first crucial days of healing?
Answer is so simple, no matter what they told you- if you insist you will have to pay extra for that (average cost of day stay at the hospital is about $1500).
Finding good and willing surgeon to perform a revision surgery is another issue. Trust me I know, more than 25% patients went abroad not due to economical reason, simply couldn't find help here in U.S.
Anyway I have to agree with Stephanie it is better to have your doc here than a plane ride away and i wish that Americans could get what they desire here not abroad. But that it is just a life!

It depends on what implant and where you want it placed.  Also could depend on city.  I live in Las Vegas and had my first consult today.  For a silicone implant under the muscle inserted under the breast it would cost me $5950.  The same procedure with saline is about $500 less.  Also to place the implant through the armpit is about $1000 more because my doctor would use an endoscope.  He recommended that I do not perform the surgery this way because silicone implants come prefilled and would leave a larger scar in the armpit than a saline implant.
