Hello Janet.

Welcome to the forums!

Breast Augmentation surgery costs can vary quite a bit depending on what you want to have done (i.e. breast enlargement, breast lift, etc.) and the doctor that performs the surgery. I know many people who have had their breasts lifted and/or enlarged and I have yet to meet a person who regrets the decision. :)

If you're interested in learning more about it, I would suggest that you take a look at some Breast Augmentation information about how the procedure is performed, what the pros and cons are, etc. and then make the decision to call a doctor for a free consultation.

Please let us know what you decide to do and how everything pans out for you. :)

Best of luck!

All The Best,
Audrey

The average cost for breast augmentation ranges from $5000- $7000. It depends on your physician, the type of implant, and if you are going to have a lift. It is smart to ask you doctor if the cost includes pot operative follow ups.

Hi Janet, I had a breast augmentation in Poland and paid $3,600.  I decided to go to abroad because I wanted to save some money- my surgeon here quoted me $5,800.  Even after adding a flight and stay there I saved $1,300 and that's a lot of money for me! I am very happy with my new breasts, my polish surgeon was excellent.   worked with Kari Group, . Just wanted to tell you my story.  Good luck! Just wanted to tell you my story.  Good luck!

I always like to add one thought when people mention surgery in another country, and that is, what if something goes wrong. What if you travel back home and get infection or capsular contracture? It is much easier to deal with complications when your plastic surgeon is not a plane ride away!

Scary stuff, what about the standards of practice in a foreign country. Are they the same as in the United States? Also what recourse do you have if results are not what you were promised or expected?
We assume that things are the same high standard everywhere, as they are here in the United States.

I have to agree newbody.....the foreign practices are there but they are often sketchy in comparison. You can get back alley surgery there or you can go to a legit surgeon but often times even the legit foreign surgeons are scary and cut corners so they can pocket money. The US has rules and regs for a reason! Also remember super cheap surgery = super cheap breasts.

It is not scary at all just need to do a lil' bit more research. We don't talk here about third world countries but Europe. You do not have to assume anything- standards in Poland are same as here and possibility that something goes wrong are same as well. However I wonder how many doctors here are really good and honest to admit a mistake? They will always look for some excuse.
Have you ever wonder why you are not staying at the clinic after surgery? Why you have to deal with pain and doubts by yourself, especially in first crucial days of healing?
Answer is so simple, no matter what they told you- if you insist you will have to pay extra for that (average cost of day stay at the hospital is about $1500).
Finding good and willing surgeon to perform a revision surgery is another issue. Trust me I know, more than 25% patients went abroad not due to economical reason, simply couldn't find help here in U.S.
Anyway I have to agree with Stephanie it is better to have your doc here than a plane ride away and i wish that Americans could get what they desire here not abroad. But that it is just a life!

I think its also important to talk to your surgeon about adverse outcomes prior to having a procedure done, maybe it would help ease some concerns

It depends on what implant and where you want it placed.  Also could depend on city.  I live in Las Vegas and had my first consult today.  For a silicone implant under the muscle inserted under the breast it would cost me $5950.  The same procedure with saline is about $500 less.  Also to place the implant through the armpit is about $1000 more because my doctor would use an endoscope.  He recommended that I do not perform the surgery this way because silicone implants come prefilled and would leave a larger scar in the armpit than a saline implant.

It is also very important to consider the future cost of having the implants replaced when they eventually break.  Implants are not meant to last a lifetime. I've had mine for 13 years. I had just married back then & my very financially secure new husband wanted me to have them.  One of my implants just broke, but now I'm divorced and in no position to afford surgery. I'm stuck like this! Please think about the future as well as the present when you consider having this surgery. You have no idea how much I wish I could turn back the clock and NOT do this.

Some great answers here regarding the cost of Breast Augmentation Procedures.  There are so many factors that are involved in determining the costs including:
  • Geographic location
  • Surgeon expertise and demand
  • Time and effort your procedure requires
  • The anesthesiologist fee
  • Operating room fees
  • Your hospital or surgical center stay
  • Lab fees
  • Type of device being implanted and more
(from the America Society of Plastic Surgeons)

In Tampa, Breast Augmentation Procedures do fall into the standard pricing but most importantly, you need to be confident in your Cosmetic Surgeon and his/her abilities then consider pricing after you determine that the procedure and the surgeon are right for you.

Be educated consumers even when having plastic surgery done!

$3,599.00 in Scottsdale, Arizona

My breast augmentation is scheduled for May 24th & I am SO excited! I did my research, found a fabulous doctor, and as it turns out, she has some awesome spring specials! $3599 TOTAL!  Saline implants, which is fine because I need a lil size "adjustment" between the two.
She's board certified, her specialty is plastics & always has been, she's a member of ASPS and ASAPS (very good things..). I paid everything to her that I owed, and sent the cashiers check for anesthesia and the hospital as well.  So now the only thing I have to worry about is my nerves the day of!
And that price includes her post-op care as well.  =)

Breast augmentation cost  is very competitive in Miami. But be aware as some places don't use board certified plastic surgeons. Do your research before making a decision. Here is how to prioritize the factors that will define a great experience and good results for your surgery.
1) Be safe (Make sure is a place with clean history)
2) Good before and after results (experienced surgeon will have many photos to show you).

3) Price (Get a detailed quote with everything included in the price)

God Luck!

Here in Miami prices are highly competitive, you can easily find many surgeons and centers offering great deals.

Price ranges are from:
$2800 to $4500 (for Saline Breast Implants)
$4000 - $7000 (for Silicone Breast Implants)

Private doctor offices tend to be more expensive while cosmetic centers and clinics charge a much lower price.

I have to agree with  TampaPlastic Surgery it all depends with all those matters. You need also to consider if your surgeon is expert on doing the breast augmentation procedure and which incision to be used.
