Does laser for toenail fungus really work? - Saturday, June 16, 2012 5:24 AM
I have had toenail fungus for many years, not on all nails, but on several and I’ve decided to finally do something about it. What I want to know is, does the laser treatment really work? And how long does it take to get complete result? I know these are a lot of questions but I would just like to know what the cost is and if it is really affective. Thanks for your help!

The laser treatment will only work if the nail matrix is sufficiently heated through to kill the fungus.  This modality is much safer  than oral medications and much easier to deal with than topical creams.  Efficacy can be achieved in just one treatment.  Cost will run anywhere from 500 to 1000 although groupon seems to be making treatments much cheaper in certain areas.

The laser treatment has an 80% success rate which is higher than OTC options, topical solutions, oral meds and home remedies. Laser Treatment has been clinically proven the most effective, safe method. A special laser machine called the Pinpointe Laser can be used to eliminate toenail fungus with just one treatment and no recovery period nor side effect. As your nail grows, the nail will be clear and not infected by fungus until healthy nail is fully grown and clear again.
