I have recently had Lipo, Breast Aug and a Breast Lift. As with any surgery, yes it hurts though it is not unbarable. I am so pleased with the results, I have lost a total of 10 inches. The areas I had lipo done on are inner thighs, chin, stomach, and sides. I would do it again.

Hello Sares!

Welcome to the forums!

Liposculpture can provide great results depending on the shape of your thighs prior to the procedure, but has been known to  make a BIG difference in many peoples shape and overall confidence! You can check out some before and after pictures here to see some of the results other people have gotten from liposculpture!

Liposuction is still surgery so of course there will be discomfort after the procedure.Liposuction is really not as simple a procedure as you imagine. It's considered a major surgery. It's a "blind " procedure. The doctor has no real way to gauge where the tube goes once inside and punctures are a real risk factor along with many other risks. A person must have tried to very seriously lose weight under medical supervision, through diet and exercise. Post surgery requires constrictive garments to help with swelling and excess skin and so on...Any good doctor will tell you it's not a cure for any type of weight problem...You still have to eat right and exercise after surgery or you'll look like you're still wearing your seat belt even when your in the house.

I agree. Liposuction is not a cure. It will give immediate results but you will end up back where you started if you do not change your lifestyle. And yes liposuction comes with its discomfort!

psgirl,
After my Vaser lipo procedure there was no bruising at all.  I was thrilled with how good the area looked. I felt tired but good enough to do a little gardening.

HI,

I had lipo just 2 weeks back at my breast area and yes it hurts a bit. I think you should not be afraid of it as the pain last for a very less period leaving some excellent results behind.

Association of Plastic surgeons proposes that a person has to go with a series of some physical examination while they think of liposuction in Miami. The key aim of this examination is to find out whether the patient is in good condition or not to have the procedure presented. Even this can help a surgeon to look out at the issues which may be concern as a critical for liposuction surgery. But for all this a person has to trust a surgeon. There are certainly great availability of good surgeons but while thinking of liposuction in Miami, we need to short list someone with considering all his experience and services.

lipo is a surgery so obviously it hurts. but since you are given anesthesia, you won't feel any hurt not until the procedure is done and the anesthesia has gone out from your system.

SmartLipo is not a replacement for a healthy lifestyle and it is not for everyone. To qualify, you must demonstrate that you have a healthy lifestyle and will respond positively to the treatment. Ensure that the surgeon is qualified to do SmartLipo in order to determine if you are qualified to undergo the procedure.

Like in any other surgeries, it would only hurt on the start after the surgery. But in the later part, you will realize that it was worth the pain!

Hello,

I don't think so if it hurts at the time of surgery because when you get operated, doctor make your particular  body part unconscious  and you are unable to feel it.

The anesthetic should effectively prevent sensations of pain. If there is pain, the doctor can give you another dose to reduce it. After the fat cells have been removed, the Lipo surgeon closes the incisions. After that you can move and walk easily without any difficulties.

Re:Does Lipo hurt? - Thursday, January 05, 2012 4:54 PM
That depends.  If you have lipo in conjunction with another procedure (one that involves putting you under) then the answer is no.  I had my first lipo when I had  a tummy tuck six months ago.  He lipoed the stomach, flanks, plus I had my upper arms done.  The only after effects were soreness.   Others describe it as the ache you feel after exercising too much and that's pretty accurate.

However yesterday I had lipo on the dog ears of my scar and on my bra roll.  This was done in the office under a local.  And OMG, yes!  It was definitely painful.  Not the entire procedure; most of the time I could feel it but it didn't hurt.  But there were times he'd hit an area that hadn't been deadened and that was agonizing.  I'm pretty tough; never made a peep but I was screaming on the inside!  When they saw me flinch and asked if it hurt I'd say yes and he'd jab in more numbing med but it's not like that's going to help without giving it some time to take effect.

I do have great fantastic results from the earlier lipo.  So I do think it's worth it.  I'm at the low end of the ideal weight range for my height and exercise regularly.  There are just areas that don't respond to exercise.  Lipo is great for sculpting those areas.  But be sure and ask what they use for numbing if you're having it done in the office.  Ask about twilight sedation.  If they plan to use a local be prepared for some pain.

There is very little pain afterwards, but I'm sure that depends on how much you have done.  Just some lingering soreness/stiffness in the affected areas.

as much as I would like to tell you that it doesn't hurt..it really does. Like any other surgery, it is done with few incisions. therefore, if there is wound, there is pain. However, the pain is certainly bearable and healing period should not take so long.

I have looked through many plastic surgery reviews and patients say that lipo itself as an operation doesn't hurt. It hurts after the surgery. And hurts pretty much..Besides, everyone has different body peculiarities and no one knows how long it will take yo to recover
