Deflated Breast
-
Wednesday, November 05, 2008 11:53 AM
Hi Stephanie, In March or 2006 I had breast reconstruction, due to abnormal breasts. 3 weeks ago I woke up at 4am and just felt weird, I relized one breast was deflated. Long strory short I contacted my surgeon and he said that since the surgery he left the practice that he was with and that he dosnt have my original records and can not find where they are stored. To top it off the company that manufactured my implants was bought out by another co. and they have no record of me in their system. Now the surgeon basically said that he'll work with me but there will be large costs what are my rights and how do I find out!! Please help THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!!! Lop sided!!

Dear "Lopsided," Were you given any paperwork when you got your reconstruction done? Usually with procedures like this, you are given a copy of your paperwork that actually includes the serial number for your implants. If you have that, they (the implant company) should be able to locate your warranty information.

You should keep in mind that even if the implant cost was covered due to warranty, you would probably still be responsible for the surgical cost.
