A breast lift is done to enhance a breast that has a sagging appearance. It can involve implants, but not always. The nipple is usually re-positioned as well to give the breast a more perky appearance. An augmentation is the actual procedure where an implant is placed to give the breast more volume. This can involve saline or silicone implants.

Is one at risk of loosing their nipple when it is repositioned? And what about breast feeding after things are moved around?

I found this on a baby site

It's likely, but it depends on the kind of surgery you had. Incisions made under the fold of the breast or through the armpit shouldn't cause any trouble. The most popular method, making a "smile" incision around the areola, puts you at greater risk for problems.

If the nerves around the areola were not cut or damaged during surgery, you may be able to nurse fully or partially. Nerves are vital to breastfeeding because they trigger the brain to release prolactin and oxytocin, two hormones that affect milk production. Your chances of breastfeeding also improve if your milk duct system is intact.

There's no evidence that silicone from silicone implants leaks into breast milk, but even if it did, it probably wouldn't harm your baby. Silicone is very similar to a substance used to treat babies' stomach gas.

A lift is a way bigger surgery than implant and can cause massive scarring. They cut you around the nipple and dow the breast in an anchor type cut and that is the scar you will have. They do this to make the breasts perkier but you will have a scar. Then while they perform the lift to remove your excess skin they put an implant in this way the skin will be tight around the implant and achieve the perkier  breasts.
Implants only are just that- an implant. Implants alone do not make your breast perkier if you have large breasts

Whats the differance between a Breast Lift and Breast augmentation

Hi...
The basic difference b/w Breast augmentation and breast lift :
Breast augmentation is used to increase the size or fill empty space left by breast tissue loss. It involves placing implants in the body to increase the size of the breasts. A breast lift raises sagging breasts and puts them back in their normal position.

the need for these two options differs on patients ofcourse. if you have a huge front in which you feel like its already sagging and you want to regain your breast to point at the right direction again, you'll be needing a breast lift. but if you need an increase in size, you'll be needing a breast augmentation also mostly known as breast augmentation.

Not all the time, sometimes you can combine them, but usually if you get a breast augmentation you are gonna get them the shape you want them so no need for a lift.

There is no need to be afraid. It might appear that breast augmentation surgery would be tough to bear but plastic surgeons perform this very efficiently. Usha rajagopal is one experienced plastic surgeon in san francisco from whom I had breast augmentation done. The procedure was carried out effectively and now I have what I wanted.

In simple term Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure, performed to enlarge the size of a woman’s breasts. Breast Lift, is a cosmetic surgical option, performed to raise and improve the shape of the breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning the nipple higher.

With new surgical techniques being developed every year, there are now a variety of options for patients who want to improve the appearance, size, and shape of their breasts. Surgery can seem like a scary or daunting option before you learn all the information about your surgical options.

A breast lift is fundamentally different from breast augmentation in that the procedure is intended to enhance, not the size, but the shape of the breasts. Breast lift surgery raises and reshapes sagging breasts, by removing excess skin.  Breast Augmentation also known as augmentation mammoplasty, involves using implants to fulfill your desire for fuller breasts or to restore breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy.

With breast augmentation simply boost the volume of your breasts. A breast implant cannot move your breasts closer together and it will not lift hanging breasts. While, with breast lift, move up the position of the nipple as well as the breast tissue. In this process, the excess skin is removed.

Depending on your age and severity of sag you may want to have both a breast lift and augmentation done.
